About the Artist
Richard MARTIN Miller-Murphy studied biology, sculpture and art history at Fairfield University and received his Masters degree at the University of New Haven. His paintings are signed using his middle name as a tribute to his grandfather. He studied under Morris Katz and Werner Hoeflich in NYC. He has traveled to 48 states and 29 countries where his photographs often form the basis of his compositions. His style is strongly influenced by landscape painters and impressionist masters as well as contemporary artists Vasseur, Estivalet, Cameron and Cardinal. The artist paints in his studio and gallery in Litchfield, Connecticut. He is a member of the Washington Art Association, Watertown Art League and the Organization of Independent Artists in NYC.
